@Deleted User I'm actually not super pro science, for the record. STEM oversteps its boundaries, and what I'm suggesting isn't even science so much as it is philosophical inquiry.

they aren't ever the priority.

They aren't ever any sort of priority.

They are always pushed aside in favor of mucking about on the internet.
I see argumentation going on a lot in tulpa communities, and in fact for the past year or so I've only seen it increase from the past. Though I think it was a bit more common than it is now in the 2012 era, and after that experienced a dip, and has recently started to come back up(edited)
Silina is telling me that they'll argue with me. For reference, they always assert a position, refuse to justify it in the face of questions, and then giggle and prod at me like i'm an idiot for expecting legitimate argumentation.
I do think people should care more about the mechanics of tulpas and think more in depth, though, it's true that a lot of people don't care at all. It's not really a problem in my eyes, it'd just be nice if people cared more about discovering more about tulpas
Don't tell me to get over it when I legitimately take on negative social reputation because I give a shit about something and can't counteract the anti-thought that is so prevalent in these conversations
@Ruethus the Silver Sorceror So I've been working on how to deal with the issues associated with claiming physicalism with respect to consciousness and therefore tulpas.
I can elaborate on all of that if you want, but I'm currently at a point where i consider consciousness to arise in varying degrees of complexity based on the "hardware"
The body is the physical form, and communicates with the mind via senses and the subconscious (this is an abstract grouping, so some things aren't entirely one-to-one here). Typical interactions are the body informing the mind of its current situation, and the mind sending back commands to respond to it.
In general, I find if you're doing too much abstracting, you might wanna look into things a bit more deeply. Let me write up some thoughts on your system as presented

could you explain to me what a learning machine is?
So, if there's nothing outside the physical realm, then consciousness is a purely physical phenomenon.
6:06 PM
If that's the case, then I have to figure out what I believe about consciousness.
6:06 PM
As of right now, I believe that consciousness is the "side effect" of biochemical processes.
6:07 PM
Ants have a very low-complexity form of this "consciousness," etc. Humans have a fairly high-complexity form of this "consciousness."
6:07 PM
Because of this, I don't like talking about tulpas like they're another consciousness, because I see consciousness as a state of being rather than some discrete separable thingy.

Consciousness is also embodied, as far as I can tell. What I mean by this is that if I'm driving my truck, which is a manual, I'm going to be physically doing things (pushing in the clutch, shifting, letting off the clutch while easing forward with the gas, etc) as well as mentally doing things (thinking about how I want to get to Wendy's, what I want to eat, wondering whether or not I have a turn signal bulb out, etc).
